Board Member Spotlight: Harsinie Panditaratne
Philadelphia Bar Foundation Board Member Spotlight: Harsinie Panditaratne
Celebrating 10 Years of Leadership, Service, and Impact
The Philadelphia Bar Foundation is proud to spotlight Harsinie Panditaratne, a trailblazing attorney, generous community advocate, and dedicated member of our Board of Trustees since 2022. As the founder and managing partner of HP Law, LLP Harsinie is celebrating the 10th anniversary of what has become one of the largest all-female-owned workers’ compensation defense firms in Pennsylvania—an inspiring testament to her vision, courage, and commitment to change.
Harsinie launched HP Law with a clear goal: to build a legal practice rooted in compassion, equity, and excellence. She leads a team that reflects the values she holds dear—diversity of thought, integrity, and mutual respect. Her firm represents employers across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, serving industries including construction, manufacturing, and staffing. Known for her deep legal knowledge and steady leadership, she has successfully litigated complex cases before Workers’ Compensation Judges, the Appeal Board, and the Commonwealth Court.
A proud alumna of Temple University Beasley School of Law, Harsinie began her journey in law without seeing many leaders who looked like her. Today, she is part of reshaping that narrative—mentoring young professionals, leading one of the most successful women-owned firms in the region, and giving back to the institutions and communities that shaped her. Since joining the Philadelphia Bar Foundation Board in 2022, Harsinie has been a vital voice in advancing our mission to promote equal access to justice and uplift historically underrepresented communities across Philadelphia.
Her commitment to service extends beyond the Foundation. At Drexel University’s Kline School of Law, Harsinie teaches Workers’ Compensation, sharing real-world insights drawn from more than a decade of experience in the field. She has also delivered national lectures on topics such as OSHA compliance, temporary staffing, and workplace safety, all while staying grounded in her community through service and philanthropy.
Harsinie’s generosity includes establishing the Panditaratne Housing Scholarship Endowment at her alma mater, Oglethorpe University—a $100,000 gift supporting students facing housing insecurity. She is a strong believer in “being there,” she regularly involves her children in the work she does, whether through community events, museum galas, or local service projects.
Her guiding principle is simple but powerful: optics matter. Harsinie leads with heart, and her work sends a clear message—that women, especially women of color and new Americans, belong at every table in the legal profession. “It should feel normal to see women own and run law firms,” she says.
As she celebrates a decade of HP Law and continues her board service with the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, we are honored to recognize Harsinie Panditaratne’s leadership, generosity, and impact. She exemplifies what it means to use the law as a tool for good—and we’re proud to have her in our corner.
