The Philadelphia Bar Foundation is Philadelphia’s philanthropic hub for access to justice.  We are the only organization in Philadelphia committed to supporting our city's legal services community. But our work involves far more than grantmaking.

More than Grants

Nonprofit legal aid organizations need assistance beyond funding. They need our help. The Philadelphia Bar Foundation addresses a wide variety of needs in the legal aid sector, providing training programs, fellowships, awards, and assistance for technical and operational issues.

Recognizing Leadership in the Field

The Bar Foundation issues awards each year acknowledging and promoting excellence and accomplishment in the legal profession for pro bono service, public interest service, nonprofit legal aid achievement, and historical role models for justice.

Engaging the Community to Support Legal Aid

The Foundation’s website, social media, and other communications efforts, such as our Justice Matters Forum, raise the public visibility of access to justice efforts by nonprofit organizations, law firms, corporate legal departments, and other community leaders.
