Philadelphia Bar Foundation, in Partnership with Rutgers School of Law–Camden, to Provide Trial Advocacy Training for Public Interest Attorneys

On October 7 – 9, the Philadelphia Bar Foundation will present a three-day Trial Advocacy Program for public interest lawyers at Rutgers School of Law–Camden. This program is made possible by the R. Nicholas Gimbel Fund for Legal Excellence.

The Trial Advocacy Program provides a unique opportunity for public interest lawyers from across the region to receive, at no cost, the type of intensive training available to lawyers in private practice. The Program will combine faculty lecture with simulation and critique and will place particular emphasis on developing and sharpening participants’ skills in the following areas: opening statements/closing arguments; direct and cross-examination (including expert witnesses, impeachment, and rehabilitation); and case analysis and preparation. The Program will take advantage of Rutgers’ state-of-the-art moot courtroom and classroom spaces to simulate the real courtroom experience for participants.
