CASA Philadelphia Helping Foster Kids Fight Education Inequality
A Speaker Series held by our nonprofit partner, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Philadelphia, brought together attorneys, child welfare professionals and volunteers to discuss the educational challenges vulnerable children in foster care face, as well as, the laws they need to understand and utilize to ensure their proper schooling. There are over 6,000 children in Philadelphia that are in foster care and need positive support in any way they can get.
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Philadelphia train and assist community volunteers to become vowed officers of the court to stand up for safety, stability, health, and well-being of abused and neglected children in the foster care system. It is up to these generous adults to make sure children of Philadelphia going through rough times in the foster care system reach the educational and life goals they aspire to attain and accomplish.
