Nineteen Interns Selected for ACCGP Diversity Corporate Internship Program
The Association of Corporate Counsel Greater Philadelphia (ACCGP) welcomed nineteen law students into this year's Diversity Corporate Internship Program.
Aimed at increasing diversity within corporate legal departments, ACCGP invites law students who are members of minority groups traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession to apply to participate in substantive experience and meaningful exposure to the roles and activities of in-house attorneys.
The Diversity Corporate Internship Program places law students with paid summer internships at a variety of prominent corporation’s legal departments. This year's corporate partners include Cigna, Comcast, Exelon, the Philadelphia Eagles, SAP, and Wawa, to name a few. Diversity Corporate Interns also spend a day of their internship participating in our nonprofit partner Philadelphia VIP's Summer Pro Bono Day.
While many corprorate partners are able to directly fund their interns, ACCGP created a fund with the Philadelphia Bar Foundation to ensure that all interns in the Diversity Corporate Internship Programs are compensated. This year, six internships were supported by the fund.
This year's Diversity Corporate Internship class includes law students from all local law school, including Drexel University Kline School of Law, Penn State Law, Rutgers Law School, Temple University Beasley School of Law, University of Pennsylvania Law School, Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, and Widener University School of Law.
