PULP and RHLS Help Low-Income Families with Overpriced Electrical Bills
The Public Utility Commission has recognized that protections are needed for low-income customers of PPL Electric Utilities, who are enrolled in the customer assistance program. The customer assistance program provides reduced utility bills, and the protections which ensure this affordable program for vulnerable customers was successfully advocated thanks to the Pennsylvania Utility Law Project, and our nonprofit partner, Regional Housing Legal Services. PULP and RHLS won the contested decision that will help low income CAP customers who used to be subjected to unnecessary electricity costs. No longer will those low-income households have to worry about excessive energy payments.
